Spain could soon have a manufacturing plant of one of the companies – if not, the most prestigious and recognized at European level in missile production, MBDA. It should be noted that the company made a quality leap in every way during the past year, reaching 5,000 million euros in 2024.
The specialized portal Infodefensa, He was recently in a press conference from the company’s CEO, Eruc Béranger, who was asked about whether the situation could occur that a production plant was opened in Spain, since it must be remembered that it is the only country of the five partners (France, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and Spain) in which there is no such installation.
However, and pulling political correction, Béranger did not reveal many details, although he assured that it is a possibility, and that the ball is on the government roof, which is the one who has to take the first step to show his interest in that option.
In spite of everything, Beránger said that it is a possibility that will be considered in the future very surely. In addition, it is a golden opportunity for Spain, since MBDA is a booming manufacturer and that already has orders for a value exceeding 13,000 million euros for this year.
In fact, the great work done by MBDA in terms of development and production has led her to amount to 16 positions in the list of companies with the highest business volume in Spain, being located in the 15th position of the Top 20 of the Spanish sector, with an annual turnover in Spain of more than 50 million euros.
In addition, in a context in which Spain, like the rest of the European countries, will increase their defense budget, becomes vital to have resources and even become one of the “main actors in European defense through their own programs and participating in multinationals.”
