Pope Francis called on the hospital to end the wars and urged to think. He did so in a letter published by the Italian daily Corriere della Sera on Tuesday, TASR writes according to AFP report.
In a letter from 14 March, Francis stressed the need for responsible journalism and called on the peaceful mind, noting that the media was obliged to perceive the importance of words. “These are never just words that build or divide the human environment.
About peace
“We have to disarm words to disarm minds and disarm the Earth, to calm down, understand complexity … While the war only devastates communities and the environment without offering conflict solutions, diplomacy and international organizations need a new beginning and credibility,” Pope wrote.
The top representative of the Catholic Church thanked the director of the daily Lucian Fontan, whom he addressed. At the same time, he noted that at the moment he was ill, wars seem even more absurd. “In fact, human fragility has the power to clarify for us what lasts and what will pass, what makes us alive and what kills,” the Pope wrote. Peace requires devotion, work, silence and words, he added.
The fourth and longest hospitalization of Francis during his 12-year pontificate began on February 14, due to breathing problems, which doctors eventually diagnosed as two-sided pneumonia. Doctors claim that the condition of the Pope is stabilized after a critical period that accompanied the respiratory crises.
