That football is a national passion, everyone knows. But the maxim gains literal sense with a data that shows how attached to the Brazilian clubs in the country. Research done by the consulting of branding TM20 and Brazil Panels, at the request of the Infomoneyhe identified that 57% of fans in Brazil do not have a gringo heart team. And among those who assume cheer for some team abroad, Spanish teams have preference.
The survey listened to 2,000 people in the last month of February. Of the total respondents, 19.6% say they cheer for Real Madrid. Barcelona, in turn, has the support of 14.3% of respondents. Other teams were also cited by a small percentage of Brazilians, such as Manchester City (favorite 3% of survey participants) and Paris Saint-Germain (with the support of 2%).
Ivan Martinho, Professor of Sports Marketing at ESPM and author of the book Patrocina! He says that the younger audience, the greater the chance of connecting to international teams.

Vascaínos cheer more for the gringos
