The House Health Commission elected on Wednesday (19) Deputy Zé Vitor (PL-MG) as new president. The collegiate is one of the most coveted of the house because of the resources directed to the area. The parliamentarian was elected with 35 votes and three blank.

“We have to be firm and fair in the inspection, we have to be open and purposeful to the debate and determined in the construction of public health policies, especially because the Ministry of Health has a budget scheduled for 2025 of over R $ 240 billion,” said the deputy after being sworn in.

According to the new president, 35% of this year’s health budget will be directed to specialized attention. He argued that the commission follow the application of resources.

The budget piece, however, still needs to be voted by Congress. The Ministry of Health’s budget is the third largest of the Esplanade, behind only social security and social development.

In his speech, Zé Vitor also defended the strengthening of health parliamentary fronts. Regarding the tensioning of relations in the collegiate, it appealed for deputies to leave “prejudices and offenses” from outside the debates.

“We have a huge expectation with the strengthening of the commissions. This is even a commitment by President Hugo Motta,” he said.

Next week, according to Zé Vitor, the collegiate should discuss pending issues on commission amendments. He also proposed the organization of an annual calendar for proposals for public hearings, technical surveys and thematic subcommittees.

The commission was the second request of the liberal party, which has the largest bench in the house and, therefore, has priority in choosing the collegiate you want to command. The sharing of commission control was negotiated for weeks and defined on Tuesday (18) by party leaders and the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB).

The PL, which has 92 deputies, will also command the Foreign Affairs and National Defense, Public Security, Tourism and Agriculture committees.
