On the morning of Tuesday (18) was recorded a traffic accident where a man crashed with a dog when he was driving a motorcycle along Madre Adelgundes Becker Street, in the Miritizal neighborhood of Cruzeiro do Sul. The impact caused them both to fall to the ground. The animal did not resist and died at the scene, while the motorcyclist, whose identity was not disclosed, suffered abrasions on the body and face. He was rescued and sent to the emergency room.

Accidents involving animals on the track are recurring in the city. In February, two similar incidents were recorded. In one of them, which occurred on the AC-404 highway, a woman fractured her arm after falling off the motorcycle. Already on Coronel Mâncio Lima Avenue, a man and a child collided with a dog crossing the road, but fortunately they did not suffer serious injuries.
Lieutenant Antonio Avelino, commander of the Traffic Platoon (Peltran) of the Cruzeiro do Sul Military Police, stressed that the owners of animals released on public roads can be held responsible if they are identified. “If you decide to create an animal, you need to offer love, affection and, above all, responsibility to avoid accidents like this,” said the officer.
