Man tries to separate couple fight and ends up stabbed in Baixada da Sobral

Wendel de Jesus Fernandes, 19, was the victim of an attempted murder after being struck with a knife while trying to separate a couple fight in the late afternoon of Tuesday (18). The case occurred at Travessa do Livramento, in the Airton Senna neighborhood, in the Baixada da Sobral region, in Rio Branco.

According to information provided by the victim herself, he walked along a public road when he came across a man assaulting his wife. As he approached, he realized that the attacker was armed with a fish -type knife. In an attempt to intervene and prevent the woman from being killed, Wendel ended up in the fight. However, the attacker struck his abdomen on the right side, causing the exposure of viscera. After the attack, the criminal fled the scene.

Residents called the police and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), which initially sent a basic support ambulance for first aid. Subsequently, an advanced support ambulance has been displaced to continue the service. After being stabilized, Wendel was sent to the Rio Branco Emergency Room in serious condition.

Military police from the 1st Battalion were called, gathered information and patrolled the region in search of the criminal, but he was not found.

The case is initially being investigated by agents of the Civil Police Emergency Room (EPE) and, later, will be under the responsibility of the Homicide and Protection of Persons (DHPP) Police Station.
