Mathematical model suggests that gravity is born of quantum mechanics

A new model of gravity uses mathematics to try to explain the origin of the strength we experience – but whose origin we do not know.

What carries the strength of gravity? Scientists have long been able to answer this question.

Black holes have foreign properties with regard to their thermodynamics, the laws that govern their temperature, energy and entropy, and especially to gravity, which behaves very differently within them.

Now scientist Manthos Karydas built, with the help of colleagues of the National Laboratory Lawrence Berkeley (LBNL), a Gravitational Model that reproduces the way we experience gravity in our world, but that dispenses with the gravitonsthe alleged particles with gravity.

The mathematical model reproduces the gravity we “know and love it,” explains the investigator to. “The rules are: it has to become the theoretical model capable of reproducing everything until now. For example, it is still necessary for the land to orbit the sun stable, ”explains another team member, Daniel Carney.

Karydas says this is the first time the idea, first presented in 1995, has been developed in sufficient detail to make predictions for specific physical scenarios, namely several laboratory experiments that are currently being built.

These experiences will investigate whether gravity can turn on two objects through the quantum tapeor, for examplerandom fluctuations called noise which should arise due to the way the force of gravity is distributed by space.

Scientist Denys Bondar says that the connection with realistic experiences is often difficult to achieve for new models of gravity, so the new work represents an important step.

“In the last decade, we have made huge progress not only in quantum measurements, but also in gravitationalFrom what I am very optimistic about the possibility of soon having more contributions from experimentalists, ”he comments.
