A 52-year-old man was arrested by the Judicial Police (PJ) in Portimão on suspicion of the crimes of sexual abuse of children committed through social networks, police said Wednesday.
The detention resulted from an investigation initiated by the Department of Criminal Investigation (DIC) of Portimão after the denunciation of the mother of a 10 -year -old child, enticed by the suspect to “share intimate images and perform relevant sexual acts remotely,” specified PJ in a statement.
To realize the alleged crimes, the man added the victim’s number of mobile phone to a computer application, establishing contact through VideoChamadas, reads in the note.
The suspect was heard in the first judicial interrogation on Tuesday, having been decreed as coercion measures, the prohibition of contacts with the victim and other minors, by any means, police say.
