The US president, Donald Trump, considered Wednesday that the call with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zelenski, about the negotiation of peace with Moscow has been “very good” and focused on “aligning” the needs of Russia and Ukraine.
“We are on the right track,” said Truth Social, specifying that he leaves Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and the National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz, the dissemination of details of the agreed.
The president explained that “much of the conversation” was based on the call held with the eve with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, with the objective of “aligning the requests and needs of Russia and Ukraine.” Trump said he spoke with Zelenski for about an hour.
This Tuesday Trump and Putin agreed to start the peace process with Ukraine with a high partial fire that initially focuses on infrastructure and energy facilities.
According to the summary of that first telephone conversation released by the White House, the process, to which the Ukrainian government had to give green light, includes technical negotiations for the implementation of a high maritime fire in the black sea, a high total fire and a permanent peace.
For its part, the Kremlin said that during the talk the Russian leader valued “positively” the Washington proposal so that both controls suspend the attacks against energy infrastructure for 30 days and that it “immediately taught the order corresponding to the Russian military.”
The Russian presidency pointed out that during the so -called Putin insisted that any resolution of the conflict must go through the end of all western military assistance to Ukraine, including that of the European Union and that of the United States, which has had a key role.
Trump, however, later pointed out in an interview with the Fox News chain that the Russian leader did not ask him to end Ukraine and that this matter was not even mentioned in his telephone conversation.
Zelenski has been open to accepting the partial truce, although he has affirmed that he should first know the details. On Wednesday, however, he denounced a massive Russian attack against the Ukrainian energy system launched shortly after Putin said he had ordered his army to immediately make said truce immediately.
