The climate was hot during a press conference at Vasco on Tuesday (18/03), at CT Moacyr Barbosa. The striker Pablo Vegetti got the mission to interview and Hit mouth with a journalist who had published alleged values he asked to renew with Vasco.
The journalist’s name will be preserved. The contested article was published by the site “GE.com” on January 15th. In it, it was reported that the Argentine requested salary over $ 1 million, without including bonuses, to expand his bond, which ends in December. Currently, Vegetti earns $ 400,000 per month.
The article also stated that Vasco was willing to pay $ 800,000. The parties, however, have not yet announced an agreement.
Now 36, Vegetti is Vasco’s top scorer in 2025, with seven goals in 12 games.

How was Vegetti’s complaint with journalist
Face to face with one of the journalists who wrote the article, Vegetti contested the note:
Vegetti: You were the one who spoke of my numbers in the contract right? I didn’t like it at all. It is very bad for you to say that.
Journalist: But is it a lie?
Vegetti: It’s a lie.
Journalist: Do you support this?
Vegetti: I support it. Bad that you talk about a player. You have to respect, because we respect you. It was not a good deed of you. I like to talk eye to eye.
Pablo Vegetti realized that a journalist at the news conference was the same one who had released a story about alleged values he asked for a new contract.

Journalist’s defense after the collective
Then the journalist went to a social network and reaffirmed the content of his article:
“Vegetti answered this to me referring to the article we published in GE in January stating that he asked for a salary over $ 1 million to renew with Vasco.
We sustained this information, which has been cleared and checked with more than one source before publication. “
