The MDB leader in the House, (AL), said on Wednesday (19) that the National Congress will “greatly improve” which will be 100% exempt from IR ().
The text was referred by the President () to Congress on Tuesday (18). Isnaldo’s statements were made during lunch with entrepreneurs at Casa Parliament, a political articulation arm of the Brazil Sphere in Brasilia.
“The project will improve a lot. Let’s make lemon a lemonade. And it won’t be voted on the box,” he said. “We have until December to discuss and seek the best text. Not only the National Congress, but all Brazil. We will discuss and understand the compensation, because when the exemption increases, of course, someone will pay this bill.”
The evaluation of entrepreneurs who participated in the event was that the proposal will help correct the income tax table and improve income distribution. However, they highlighted the risk of planned compensation measures to rule out international investments in Brazil, by taxing foreign capital.
According to Isnaldo, this concern will be taken into account in the discussion of the project. “Especially at a time when we are creating credibility for these investments to be applied again in the country,” he said. “And, I repeat, we’ll discuss this all year round. We should only vote the story in December.”
