The military bosses of the ‘Volunteer Coalition’ promoted by Starmer meets in the United Kingdom
The British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, will hold this Thursday at the Northwood military base a closed meeting with military controls of the so -called volunteer coalition – País who have shown their willingness to participate – to draw a peace plan in Ukraine, including a plan for the eventual deployment of a peace force in the country. The meeting occurs in parallel to the European Summit that this Thursday in Brussels faces the European rearme and support to kyiv before the Russian invasion.
Although Downing Street has not confirmed for now the exact time of the meeting or has contributed details, it is expected that more than 20 representatives of countries will try to advance in the plans of a possible deployment of troops on Ukrainian soil and launch a peace plan that guarantees the future security of Ukraine.
According to Luke Pollard, the British Minister of the Armed Forces, the International Meeting of Military Managers, which will take place in the Northwood military base, is a sign that Europe “is being reinforced.” “We are optimistic in that joining people we can also demonstrate to our US friends that Europe and our allies are getting what they want to see, reinforcing support,” said Pollard.
Questioned about the rejection of the president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, to the presence of European soldiers in Ukrainian soil, the Secretary of State has pointed out that the Russian president “wants to keep Ukraine weak, because, so we have seen in the past, when he commits himself to peace agreements, breaks his word, breaks those agreements.” (EFE)
