Man detained for thefts in homes and possession of forbidden weapons in Loulé

A 55-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for thefts in homes and possession of forbidden weapons in the municipality of Loulé, Faro district, having been seized 18 weapons, the GNR said.

In a statement, this security force states that the suspect was identified and located in the context of an investigation related to the occurrence of multiple thefts in homes in that Algarve municipality.

During the operation, the Republican National Guard (GNR) military personnel conducted two searches, one home and one in a vehicle.

At the end of the intervention, the suspect was arrested and seized several objects, including some forbidden weapons: two hunter, a disguised hunter, two pistols, a revolver, two compressed air pistols, three compressed air carabins, three Catanas, a handcrafted spear, a automatic opening knife, a taser and 583 authors.

The detainee was argued and the case sent to the Loulé Judicial Court.

The operation was carried out by the territorial post of Salir da and was reinforced by the Public Order Intervention Group (GIOP) of the Intervention Unit (UI) and the Faro Intervention Detachment (DI).
