Pope Francis is no longer using mechanical ventilation to help breathe at night, and his doctors have stated that he is confirmed that he is improving as he recovered from double pneumonia, the Vatican said on Wednesday.

Francisco, 88, was admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection that required continuous treatment.
