The proximity of the date of the trial that will analyze the complaint against former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and his allies by alleged coup resulted in an increase in threats directed at the Supreme Court (STF). The information was released by CNN.
Most threats have been registered through the Court’s telephone center, although there are also offenses sent by email. The STF Ombudsman said he accompanies and monitors these occurrences.
The increase in threats occurred especially after Minister Cristiano Zanin, president of the First Class of the Supreme Court, set the date of the trial, scheduled for March 25 and 26.

Sources of the channel in the court state that growth in records of intimidation “is not coincidence”, being one of the reasons that motivated the creation of a rigorous security protocol.
Among the protection measures is the reinforcement of the Military Police around the STF building, restricted access to the plenary and a specific plan to prevent cyber attacks. The protocol, which is being adjusted between the Supreme Direction and Zanin’s office, should be finalized by Friday (21).
