Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) held, on Thursday, 20, a live in celebration of his 70 years, alongside lawyer Paulo Cunha Bueno and his son, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). The event, broadcast on his YouTube channel, had a contestation tone for investigations against him in the Supreme Court (STF) and included an auction of an autographed helmet.
During the broadcast, Bolsonaro defended himself from the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for attempted coup. The former president reinforced the narrative that he was in the United States during the acts of January 8 and could not have participated in the demonstrations. According to Bolsonaro’s lawyer, the scammers were an “unfortunate episode.”
Cunha Bueno criticized the 272-page complaint filed by the PGR, classifying it as a “narrative” without concrete evidence. According to the former president’s attorney, the events that took place in Brasilia were the result of “popular dissatisfaction” with the electoral process and cannot be characterized as an attempt to coup. The former president classified the process as a “huge bar forceding.”

Bolsonaro’s lawyer also stated that the Federal Police would have selected only excerpts favorable to the prosecution and again said that the alien of orders Mauro Cid occurred under psychological pressure. He also said that he did not have access to all evidence of the investigation and cited his request to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) to investigate possible violations of defense prerogatives.
This Thursday, 20, the defenses of the former president, General Walter Braga Netto and Colonel Marcelo Costa Câmara filed the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) claiming that Minister Alexandre de Moraes is committing “illegalities” and violating law prerogatives in the coup inquiry.
The defenses insist that they did not have access to all evidence of the investigation, such as the full conversations extracted from cell phones seized by the Federal Police. They also claim that lawyers received hard drives with different content.

OAB President Beto Simonetti told Estadão column that the entity will support any lawyer who has the prerogatives violated.
