Legislative elections take place on May 18, but anyone who wants to benefit from the early vote, in mobility, should express it between May 4 and 8. The President of the Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has officially dissolved Parliament. Until the elections, the Assembly of the Republic has a reduced activity until the inauguration of the new deputies. During this period, only the Permanent Commission, led by the President of the Assembly, José Pedro Aguiar-Branco, will operate. But how does it work and what powers do this commission have?
