The responsible bodies did not intervene in time and did not prevent the entry of the infection into the territory of Slovakia. This was stated by Marián Čaučík, an opposition MP for the KDH and a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Agriculture and the Environment for the information that the occurrence of clinkers and Krivačka was also confirmed in the territory of the Slovak Republic.
“This is an alarming situation and requires an immediate and consistent reaction of the state authorities that will emphasize the protection of animal health, the financial interests of the breeders and the safety of consumers,” said Čaučík.
According to him, the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic was supposed to act vigorously and take hard measures, especially at the border with Hungary, where the infection was confirmed. “So far, quarantine measures in eight municipalities of districts Dunajská Streda and Komárno have been obviously not very effective. Poland has set up decontamination gates and disinfectant fords on its borders immediately, despite the fact that it does not succeed with Hungary,“He stressed.
“I will initiate to include a point: measures to prevent the spread of clinkers and codes in Slovakia on the program of the next regular meeting of the National Council of the Slovak Republic for Agriculture and the Environment on Tuesday (25 March). It is obvious that the responsible authorities did not intervene in time and did not prevent the entry of the infection into the territory of the Slovak Republic. It is all the more important that they now hit prompt, effectively and quickly. Otherwise, the consequences for the whole sector can be disastrous, “added Čaučík.
