Do you have this plant in the garden? Be careful, ticks love her

Ticks can be found in forests, parks, meadows, but also on the plot. These arachnids are dangerous because they carry dangerous diseases, i.e. boleriosis or tick -borne encephalitis. That is why we should avoid planting specific garden plants. The most popular specimen is inconspicuous fern.

To start with, it is worth considering why they are clinging to the ferns. It is not about the plant itself, but the environment they create. There is high humidity and shading in the thickets of this specimen.

It is such conditions that are ideal for those arachnids, which, after all, avoid a dry and sunny area. Thick fern leaves are a great hideout for themfacilitating waiting for the host.

That is why it is best not to plant ferns in the garden. However, if we really want to have these plants on our plot, then let’s spread them so that they have a free air flow. Let’s also cut these specimens regularly. Thanks to this, we will reduce the humidity around them.

Avoid planting these specimens near resting places, i.e. gazebos or terraces. The less wet, shady corners in the garden, the lower the risk of ticks.

Apart from ferns Ticks also feel good in high grasses. That is why we should regularly mow them – at least once every two weeks in the spring and summer.

We also recommend avoiding planting plants in the garden, e.g. ivy. As mentioned – these parasites like secluded, moist places, which is why they stay even in TUI needles.

The specimens that are shelter for these arachnids are: blackberries, hazel and black lilacs. Having these plants in the garden, their proper care is very important, thanks to which we will avoid tick invasion. Of course, we are talking about systematic pruning and thinning of the thicket.

It is good remove fallen leaves and other plant residueswhich can stop moisture. It is also worth giving up dense, notable hedges, creating an ideal environment for these parasites. Taking care of order in the garden, we not only increase safety, but also improve the aesthetics of space.
