The Lagos City Council approved the opening of the public tender for the rehabilitation contract for one of the water reservoirs that supplies the city. The intervention, with an estimated cost of about 2.6 million euros, is part of the municipality’s investment plan for the renewal and modernization of the low water distribution network, with the objective of increasing the efficiency of the sector.
On the eve of the celebration of World Water Day, which is marked on March 22, and despite the rains of the last weeks that contributed to the recovery of the region’s water reserves-in a climb that has not been seen for several years-the municipality maintains its commitment to the water efficiency program, preparing for drought and water shortages that have become increasingly frequent.
The intervention is framed in the Regional Water Efficiency Plan and has a financing approved by the Plan for Recovery and Resilience (), within the SM1 measure – reduce water losses in the urban sector. The project will benefit from a 100% reimbursement of eligible expenses.
