One of the great idols in the history of Santos, José Macia, Pepe, turned 90 on February 25.

As part of the celebrations, the ‘Canhão da Vila’ wins an exhibition from April 8 in his honor at the Pelé Museum.

“Pepe: 90 years of the village cannon” will be on display for a year and will tell the trajectory of the second largest scorer in the history of Santos, with 405 goals, behind only 1,091, according to club accounts.

The exhibition will have objects from the private collection of the honoree and was conceived by the Pelé Museum team, with the participation of Gisa Macia, daughter of Pepe.

For Alvinegro Praiano, Pepe made history alongside Pelé and raised 25 cups, including 11 Paulista Championships, six Brazilians, two Libertadores and two interclub worlds.

For the Brazilian team, he was two -time world champion in the 1958 and 1962 Cups.

The period as a technician, when he commanded Santos himself, among other teams in Brazil and abroad, will also be remembered.

Located at Largo Marquês de Monte Alegre, 1, Valongo, the Pelé Museum operates from Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 5:30 pm. Admission is free.
