North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un, supervised on March 20, 2025 the test launch of a New anti -aircraft missile systemaccording to the state media of North Korea.
The Central News Agency (KCNA) toHe signed that the test was successful regarding the reliability of the new weapons, noting that The North Korean army’s combat response was “advantageous.” Although the exact place of the test was not revealed, the disseminated images showed a missile by rising to the sky and an explosion in the air, with Kim observing the test.
The launch took place in the midst of an increase in military cooperation between Russia and North Korea. That same day, the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, arrived in Pyongyang to meet with Kim and other senior North Korean officials.
According to experts, this new missile test could be linked to the possible export of these weapons to Russia, which would use them in their fight against Ukraine. Ahn Chan-il, a North Korean deserter who now runs the World Institute for North Korea studies, commented that this launch is “Probably a weapons test to export to Russia to be used in Ukraine.”
The intensification of the links between Moscow and Pyongyang becomes evident in the diplomatic movements of recent months. In recent days, Russia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrey Rudenko, was also in Pyongyang, where he met with North Korean Foreign Minister, Choe are Hui.
This collaboration is not new, since it has been reported that last year Russia provided anti -aircraft missiles and other air defense equipment to North Korea in exchange for military support in the Ukraine conflict. According to some analystsmore than 10,000 North Korean soldiers have been deployed in Russia to help in the fight against Ukraine.
