“The poll is encouraging, but it is a poll and, therefore, throughout my political life I always said something about polls: I do not depress when they are bad, nor get dazzled when they are good. I hope we have a campaign where the Portuguese and the Portuguese can discern and distinguish what differentiates candidates and projects,” said Luís Montenegro.
The poll points out that the democratic alliance brings together 20% of voting intentions and that Pedro Nuno Santos’s PS gets 15% in the legislatures of 18 May.
However, the largest percentage goes to the undecided. The opinion study indicates that 39% of respondents do not know what it will vote for or refuses to respond.
For Pedro Nuno Santos, the fault for the value of the indecisive lies on the shoulders of Luis Montenegro.
“I think four weeks of news about a very different prime minister, about companies, about the house of Espinho, about the houses of Lisbon… Every day we continue to have news. Obviously this generates an environment of indecision and confusion that has to be clarified and who has to be clarified. We will do our best,” said Pedro Nuno Santos.
The SIC/Express poll also reveals that Most respondents were not pleased with Luis Montenegro’s explanations and much of the early elections could have been avoided.
