The so -called “reciprocal” customs, which the president wants to impose, will come into force on April 2nd, the White House spokesman, Caroline Levit, assured today during a press conference.
“The president was particularly clear about his intention for April 2, it will be a big day for our country,” Levit said, noting that “important duties will come into force”.
The “reciprocal” customs duties consist of imposing on products entering the US from a country the same level of taxation as that that the country applies to US products entering its territory.
Earlier this week, Finance Minister Scott Bessed said that “countries will receive a percentage, which is, which, in our opinion, represents the duties they impose.”
“We will see them and tell them,” Here, this is the amount of your duties, your non -tariff barriers, the manipulations made through your currency “”, adding that if the countries concerned with the measure renounce these practices “we will not apply the duties”.
