In high altitudes of the High, Western and Low Tatras, there is a slight avalanche danger corresponding to the second stage of the five -part international scale on Saturday. This was informed by the avalanche prevention center of the mountain rescue service in Liptovský Hrádok.
“During the day, smaller to medium -sized spontaneous avalanches from wet snow may occur on steep, sunlight slopes. On the northern shady slopes, gutters, under the saddles and rock walls there are hard snow plates and pillows that are not sufficiently tied to the background. The availability of avalanche in these places is especially possible at a heavy additional load, ” stated the center.
The snow cover reaches 30 centimeters in the leeward places. During the day the snow changes to wet to wet. On the northern slopes, snow remains dry, often stored in the form of hard plates and pillows. There is also free dust snow. In positions up to 1,400 meters above sea level is only an incoherent snow cover.
