In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on Friday that former Argentine president Cristina Kirchner and former Minister Julio Miguel de Vido are forbidden to enter the United States due to accusations of “significant corruption” during their mandates.
“CFK (Cristina) and Vido abused their positions when orchestrating and financially benefited from various bribery schemes related to public works contracts, resulting in millions of dollars stolen from the Argentine government. Several courts condemned CFK and vido for corruption, undermining the confidence of the Argentine people and investors in the future of the country,” the statement published on the US embassy website in the US website.
