The US president has commissioned Boeing the contract for the development of the US Air Force’s sixth-generation fighter jet (USAF), known as the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD), which will be called F-47, as announced by the Oval Office.
“The F-47 will be the most deadly fighter in the world,” the US president said. He revealed that the original of the fighter has been flying in secret for 5 years, but refused to reveal more details and his honor.
“The F-47 will fly with many many drones,” as Trump pointed out, praising the stealth features of the new aircraft.
The NGAD program will replace Lockheed Martin’s F-22 Raptors, while the development contract is worth more than $ 20 billion.
Boeing’s shares increased by almost 5% after the news. The Seattle -based company won the contract against Lockheed Martin (LMT.N), and its shares fell almost 6%.
