Ferrari is attracting a new generation of consumers. According to CEO Benedetto Vigna, 40% of new brand buyers are under 40 years old. The data represents a significant advance compared to the 30% registered 18 months ago.
“It’s an achievement of our team,” said Vigna in an interview with CNBC During an event held in Singapore this week. The manufacturer continues with a limited production strategy to preserve the brand’s exclusivity. About 75% of sales are still for existing customers.
Even in the face of growing demand, the executive stressed that the waiting time – which can go from two years – is part of the Ferrari experience. He cited cases of anxious buyers, such as a 78 -year -old client and another 37 who wanted the car before 40. “I told him, ‘You’ll receive at 39,” he said.
Vigna also confirmed that Ferrari will launch its first fully electric car on October 9th. The model will be produced in Italy and is one of the six launches scheduled for 2025. The automaker bets on three product lines: combustion, hybrid and electric.
“We know that some customers don’t want an electric Ferrari, but others just want an EV,” said the CEO.
