The whole manuals could be written on the subject and maybe some of them were created. Kuna in the house is a truly unwelcome visitor. Unfortunately, its expulsion is not easy.

In the picture or somewhere in the forest zoological garden you may be melting over it. The skillful beast with a long body and a distinctive tail is actually quite cute. But a woe to you as soon as he gets into the house. Coexistence can be dangerous with her, while getting rid of it is a good challenge.

Do you live with you?

The strange night noise, scratching and scraping is a sign that there is a living creature under the roof. However, homeowners often reveal Kuna on the basis of a very unpleasant odor from the decaying droppings, urine, and especially the remains of animals that wear from night hunting to the nest. A clear feature that a marten stays in close proximity can be scattered garbage, droppings in the yard, damaged facade and a strikingly high incidence of flies, worms and other pests.

Usually the marten gets into the house over the roof and then settles directly in it or in the attic. It is there that he has everything he needs for life. So heat, safety and food. It is hard to prevent her from doing so, but that’s the way to success. It climbs well and jumps from a nearby tree to the roof without any difficulty. Alternatively, it can also climb on a rougher facade. To get in, even a tiny opening is enough. And if it is no otherwise, it can even move the roof bag.

Disturbing neighbor

If you have never had a marten at home, you may not know what the problem is. “The marten cancels with scrape and scratches at night and damages not only the places in which it stays, but also insulation, roof and outer facades, and can even bite into the power lines. It builds a tunnel system through which the heat is leaking in winter. crowns, ”describes Lukáš Kmenta from HBS, specialists in building insulation.

With whom

If the marten gets inside, which is not really a big problem for her, it is best to discourage her from settling in your home. According to experts, for example, the choice of appropriate isolation helps. In some materials, it is easier to do more and more popular, while others, headed by polyurethane, rather discourage it.

But other measures will also help you. First of all, do not forget to check the roof. Carefully, carefully, or at least with a net. This also applies to possible vents. Kuně is enough to stretch in a very small opening. Preventively, especially if the marten has ever been, or because you know they are moving around, you can also use an ultrasonic scareer. It is imperceptible to the human ear and discourages not only the marten but also the rodent.

In the paste

If you are now my hands, that it is enough to set a poison or other bait, then do not rejoice. The marten are protected by law, so you must not kill them. The animal must therefore be discouraged or possibly caught. For example, the local rescue station of small animals can help with this. If you want to go to work yourself, you will buy traps in hobby markets and gardening and specialized stores. It is usually set with a bait – a piece of meat, an egg or dried fruit. Be aware that after a successful capture you will have to take the animal somewhere far away. This will not come back and force her to look for housing somewhere else.

Remove it with the scent

If you do not want to invest in a shower or trap, you can try to discourage the marten naturally. What does not smell at all is distinctive scents. In the attic and in places where it could penetrate the roof, it is worth hanging bouquets of lavender, or to spill chlorine lime (but then there will not be pleasant to you). Likewise, if you try the Baby recipe and hang out the clothes soaked in diesel. It is slightly better to use the car smells, balls to the toilet (which is said to help well under the hood of the car). What does not smell at all and sometimes works well, is a burying of larger tufts of hair or dog hair. “It is certain that when someone has a marten in the house, they will try all possible ways to get it from there,” advises an expert in the isolation of houses. “It is therefore much better to try to take such steps in advance that it does not embarrass at all. And to regularly maintain all parts of the roof and block possible access roads,” Kmenta adds.

Insulation even against mice

Properly chosen insulation should help protect the house not only from predators, but also rodents. According to the authors of the Technical University in Zvolen, the mouse was not interested in wade through the polyurethane foam even if they were waiting for food on the other side. The reason was probably the microstructure of the closed pore material and also the chemical composition of the insulation (which is of course harmless to health). On the contrary, natural organic insulation did not pose any obstacle to rodents and they came to food easily and quickly. “Of course, this result does not mean that this is a 100 % warranty, but if you want to prevent the insulation from being damaged by pests, PUR foam is a very effective solution,” recommends Lukáš Kmenta.
