The Palacio de la Zarzuela has said enough to the leaks of images of Princess Leonor. Through a message, the King’s house has reported that, through the Embassy of Spain in the southern country, it will denounce a shopping center in Punta Arenas (at the southern end of the country) for having illegally leaked images of Princess Leonor and her cruise companions to a local medium. “It is an inadmissible behavior: it is not worth everything,” reads the message. The distribution of images captured by security cameras “is an infraction of current regulations on data protection in Chile (as would be in Spain),” adds the statement.
Princess Leonor aboard Juan Sebastián Elcano as part of his military formation with the Navy that began last summer entering the Naval School of Marín (Pontevedra) and that will end this July. The princess, along with almost 80 Guardamarinas, made a couple of weeks ago in Montevideo (Uruguay) and now goes to Valparaíso to continue the journey with the flagship to Peru, Colombia, Panama, Dominican Republic and, finally, New York (USA).
The photos, in which the heiress is seen walking street dressed in a shopping center have “little value” and are “inconsequential,” explains the zarzuela. However, they have filled the patience of the royal family. “Those responsible for the camera control of the mall facilitated access to images to a Chilean media,” explains Casa Real, which means a “violation of data protection regulations.” In this way and, prior coordination with the diplomatic legation in Santiago, Chile, “it has been decided to denounce” before the competent authority.
