Sport personalities regret the death of Foreman – 03/22/2025 – Sport

The world of sports said goodbye, this Friday (21), the boxing idol and heavyweight champion, George Foreman. The family published a note on their social networks announcing the death. The news reverberated among personalities, who mourned and honored the legend.

Mike Tyson wished condolences to Foreman’s family members. “Your contribution to boxing and the world will never be forgotten,” he wrote on his social networks.

Billie Jean King, former American tennis player, shared the news on his X profile with a two-time statement. “He was a great champion and a good friend,” he lamented.

Former Basketballist Scottie Pippen, one of Chicago Bull’s biggest names, shared a photo of George praising the idol’s story and stated that “his legacy lives.”

Brazilian sportsmen also shared messages in honor of Foreman on social networks. Hebert Conceição, a gold medalist boxer at the 2020 Olympics, lamented the fighter’s death.

George Foreman won Olympic gold in 1968 and was world champion in 1973 at the age of 24 and in 1994 at 45, becoming the oldest fighter to earn the weight-heavyweight belt. The cause of death was not disclosed.
