Ednaldo Ricardo da Silva, 49, was shot by criminals; It is the second case of criminal police attacked in SP this week
Criminal police officer Ednaldo Ricardo da Silva, 49, was murdered at dawn on Saturday (22.mar.2025) after reacting to a robbery in the Jardim Monica neighborhood of Itaquaquecetuba, São Paulo Metropolitan Region.
Silva, who worked at Suzano’s Provisional Detention Center, returned home when he was approached by 8 criminals. He tried to react, but had the gun taken and was shot. The robbers fled without taking their motorcycle.
The victim was rescued at Santa Marcelina Hospital, but could not resist. The case was registered as a murder at the Itaquaquecetuba Police Station.
2nd police officer shot in the week
Silva joined his career in 2002, was married to a criminal policeman and had a son. He is the 2nd criminal police officer shot during a theft this week.
On Sunday (16.mar), policeman João Sérgio da Luz, Gir (rapid intervention group), was hit in the abdomen during an attempted robbery on the Rodoanel. He underwent surgery and lost a kidney, but is not at risk of life.
