The Federal Supreme Court () begins to judge on Tuesday (25), the “core 1” of the coup plot reported by the Attorney General’s Office (). In addition to this group, of which the former president is part, the court will judge four other nuclei in the coming months. The STF has already defined the dates of the judgment of nuclei 2 and 3. The rapporteur of the action on the attempted coup, minister, also released to vote the complaint against Center 4, but the date of analysis of the case was not yet defined by the president of the first class, Cristiano Zanin. There is no forecast of release of the complaint of the fifth group.
In all these judgments, the board will decide whether to accept the complaint against the alleged scammers and transforms them into defendants of a criminal action. The reason that there are five nuclei is because the complaints were “sliced” in a PGR strategy to speed the process, as Estadão Vera Rosa columnist in December showed. In addition, the accused were divided according to the “nuclei” of the alleged criminal organization that would have orchestrated an attempted coup at the end of 2022, such as the Federal Police (PF) investigation.
PF’s investigation identified six different types of acting in the coup plot, and divided them into groups: misinformation and attacks on the electoral system; Nucleus responsible for inciting military man to adhere to the coup d’état; Legal; SUPPORT OPERATING TO GOLPISH ACTIONS; Parallel and operational intelligence for compliance with coercive measures.
The PGR reorganized this division, which became five nuclei, excluding also eight people who had been indicted by the PF but were not denounced.
