American basketball was shaken by a controversial incident during a game of the High School championship in New York. Jim Zullo, coach of Northville’s team and member of the Hall of Fame of state basketball, lost his composure and pulled Hailey Monroe’s hair, one of his players while shouting at him.
Monroe, who was already in tears, was even more shaken by the aggression. The episode generated a wave of indignation, aggravated by a confrontation with another player who tried to defend the colleague. As a result, Zullo was immediately fired.
The 81-year-old tried to justify himself, telling the news10 ABC that the player would have insulted him before the incident. However, his attitude was considered unacceptable, leading to his resignation.
