In Plácido de Castro, a municipality located in Acre, the interdiction of the bridge that connects the city to the border with Bolivia has generated great concern. Residents, who could once have the use of the bridge for the crossing, are now forced to cross or even by boat. The situation gets worse due to the increase in flooding, which reaches some houses and causes inconvenience for those depends on the road to work and other daily activities.

“It hasn’t been something like this for a long time,” said Jafelina Cardoso during the recording of a vicion, referring to the interdiction of the bridge and the growing threat of the waters. The Abunã River, which defines the border between Brazil and Bolivia, has risen rapidly, leaving the most chaotic scenario for the Placidenses, especially this Sunday (23), when the waters hit some houses in the lower areas.
