The last week was marked by four events that dominated the discussion on social networks and messenger groups. On Tuesday (18), the government presented the proposal to those who earn up to $ 5,000. On the same day, he announced that he would take a license out of his mandate.
Eduardo Bolsonaro’s announcement took over social networks. The support movement for Eduardo was orchestrated on the right to put him as a political persecuted whose decision was linked to heroic purposes, such as confrontation to the injustices that would be committed by and by.
In the video in which he announced his decision, Eduardo called Moraes psychopath. The term began to be used in the right -linked messenger groups to refer to the minister. According to Palver data, the number of mentions to “psychopath” grew nine times in Whatsapp public groups after Eduardo’s speech.
The theme gained even more engagement and repercussion given the position of the left itself. After Eduardo’s video, the messages quickly started circulating in WhatsApp public groups with videos, images and texts classifying him as “Fujão” and “Coward”.
Meanwhile, the theme of the one was restricted to messages with a more institutional tone and with shots identified by the Palver algorithms as being automated.
The case of Eduardo Bolsonaro arrived at Pico on Wednesday (19), the day when the mentions to the parliamentarian reached 309 per 100,000 messages exchanged in the public groups of WhatsApp analyzed by Palver. IR exemption had its peak the same day, but with only 49 mentions every 100,000.
The minister’s interviews helped keep the topic alive in the public debate and on Thursday (20). While the mentions of Eduardo’s case fell to 195 per 100,000 messages, the theme of the exemption remained relatively on a high level with 39 mentions, always considering 100,000 messages exchanged. The mentions to Minister Fernando Haddad were 6 on March 17 to 30 on the 20th.
On Friday (21), two events again took the focus of the government’s proposal. The STF began the judgment of the Federal Deputy (PL) in the case where the parliamentarian, in the context of the elections of 2022 ,. Voting at the Supreme Court, until Sunday afternoon (23), was 4-0 for the condemnation of Zambelli, and the trial should continue until next Friday (28).
In addition to the case of Zambelli, the first class of the Supreme Court also began the trial of Débora Rodrigues dos Santos, accused of crimes as an attempt of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law and coup d’état. The rapporteur of the case, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, 14 years in prison – Flavio Dino accompanied him in the vote.
The votes for Zambelli’s conviction were widely reported in the leftist groups, with the peak of mentions taking place on Friday (21), with 63 per 100,000 messages in the WhatsApp sample. In Deborah’s case, the right chose to use the case to guide the debate alleging abuse of the judiciary. With 73 mentions on Friday, the topic reached 159 on Saturday and kept that level.
Automated and organic messages were sent orchestrated by arguing that Deborah, always mentioning that she is the mother of two young children, was arrested because of a lipstick, given that “justice” located in the Three Powers Square.
Despite Haddad’s communication strategy and the relevance of IR exemption, the right managed to be more effective in guiding social networks and mastering public debate over the past week.
