“Another exposed lie,” says a statement from Netanyahu’s office

The Prime Minister of Israel, accused this Monday (24) the director of whose dismissal was blocked on Friday by the Supreme Court, to have investigated without its consent the minister of far right Itamar Ben Gvir, holder of the National Security Folder.

“The statement that the prime minister authorized Shin Bet director Ronen Bar, gathering evidence against Minister Ben Gvir is another exposed lie,” says a statement from Netanyahu’s staff. The television channel 12 stated that the SHIN BET Safety Agency has spent months in a “secret procedure” to investigate the infiltration of extreme right elements into the police and their bonds with Ben Gvir.

“The published document, which contains an explicit guideline of the Shin Bet chief to gather evidence against political leaders, is similar to obscure regimes, undermines democracy and aims to overthrow a right -wing government,” the statement adds. On Friday, Israel’s Supreme Court suspended the government’s unprecedented decision to dismiss Ronen Bar, an announcement that deepened political divisions in the country.
