The new Marina de Vilamoura, inaugurated at the end of 2024 and prepared to receive large vessels, already has its fully operational desalination system. The implementation of this infrastructure reinforces Marina’s commitment to the preservation of water resources and a more sustainable future, continuously promoting efficient and responsible management of its resources.
This new equipment allows not only to optimize Marina’s water resources, but also to serve various activities, namely the washing of vessels in Nova Marina, works in the shipyard, watering of green spaces and other uses where non -drinking water is required.
“Last Saturday, March 22, World Water Day was celebrated and, in this sense, this is news that could not reach a better height and that makes us very proud. With this unit of desalination, we reaffirmed our role as a pioneer Marina in promoting responsible and sustainable environmental practices in nautical infrastructure,” said Isolete Correia, CEO of Vilamoura Marina.
The adopted desalination process is based on reverse osmosis, through which saltwater is captured in the inner basin and treated effectively.
The system is also complemented with automatic maintenance technology and remote reading of equipment, allowing real -time communication with the technical team and ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
