OGH sees “disadvantageous” loan processing fee – consumer advocates are preparing complaints

Vienna – In the past few years, lawyers have repeatedly brought cases to the court where it was necessary to clarify whether the loan processing fee charged by banks is legal. The Supreme Court (OGH) has now decided that this fee is “grossly disadvantageous”. The background to this finding was a lawsuit against Bawag. The bank had set the credit processing fee of 1.5 percent for consumer loans.
