Proposal includes use of the amphitheater to add almost 1,000 seats, aiming at larger audience in games
Palmeiras evaluates the possibility of expanding the ability of Allianz Parque on games days. The proposal includes the use of the amphitheater area, oval or circular arenas surrounded by open -air steps, situated behind one goals, specifically in the “North Gol” sector where the club’s organized fans are usually on game days. The space can accommodate almost 1,000 people.
The idea of establishing a “popular sector” in this place was considered, but faces challenges, especially access. Currently, access to the amphitheater is by “Gol Norte”, on Francisco Matarazzo Avenue, which allows entry to the entire space, not just to the mentioned sector. The site has no exclusive entry or bathrooms for the fans, which requires adaptations beyond the simple release of seats, according to information from.
The alternative of expanding the existing stands rather than creating a new sector is also under analysis. Palmeiras obtained the right to use the amphitheater space on game days from October 2024, after an agreement with WTorre/Real Arenas. The agreement ended a long legal dispute and resulted in the granting of R $ 117 million to the club, in addition to the use of stadium properties, including the amphitheater.
Currently, Allianz Parque has a capacity of 43,713 spectators on games days. The audience record was reached in 2023, during a match against Corinthians for the Brazilian Championship, which ended with Victory of Palmeiras 2-1 and attracted a large number of fans. With the proposed expansion, the stadium’s capacity could reach almost 45,000 people.
