The municipality of Tavira began the second phase of the animal welfare education project, now aimed at students of the 2nd cycle of basic education.
In this new stage, students have the opportunity to know and reflect on the story “Mom, can we have a pet human?”, By Carolina Allegro. Through this tale, a challenge is launched to the imagination: what would it be like if animals were people and people, animals?
From this exercise of empathy, students are led to reflect on how we treat animals, sensitizing them to the importance of responsible adoption and the work developed by the Unit of Welfare, Health and Animal Health (Ubesa).
It is recalled that, during the first phase of the project, the students of the 1st cycle were invited to know the book “Gabi, the world needs you”, edited by Betweien, Lda., And they could also interact with some of the animals that temporarily are careful.
