UK composite PMI exceeds expectations and rises to 52, says S&P Global

O Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) composed of the United Kingdom It rose from 50.5 in February to 52 in March, reaching the highest level in six months, according to preliminary data published on Monday (24) by Global S&P.

The result exceeded the expectation of analysts consulted by FACTSET, which provided for PMI composed of 50.8 this month.

Only the British Services PMI advanced from 51 to 53.2 in the same period, reaching the highest level in seven months. In this case, the forecast was to fall to 50.8.

Already in the industrial sector, the PMI of the United Kingdom fell from 46.9 in February to 44.6 in March, playing the lowest level in 18 months and frustrating the consensus of FactSet, increasing at 47.2.

Pmis above 50 suggests expansion of the activity, while data below this brand indicate contraction.
