The Special Secretary of the IRS, Robinson Barreirinhas, said on Tuesday (25) that the impact of income tax reform on states and municipalities should be below $ 5 billion, much less than estimates presented by the entities.
Following the presentation of the project, regional governments claimed that they will be lost due to the increase in the IR exemption range, which reduces tax retention at the source.
The National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM), for example, estimated that the expansion of the exemption may decrease R $ 11.8 billion of funds annually only for municipalities.
In an event of the Parliamentary Front of Entrepreneurship, Barreirinhas stated that the recipe is finalizing calculations that point to a much lower cost.
“It is less than $ 5 billion, with certainty, the retention (of IR) of states and municipalities,” he said.
According to him, the data will be refined by the revenue and subsequently presented.
