In the week before the day, the deputy (-SP) will send to the House a series of proposals to punish those who participate in coup attempts. The deputy says it is a package of democracy.
Among the measures, the psoilist proposes an amendment that determines the expulsion and cancellation of the military patent of those who engage in conspiracies against the constitutional order.
Boulos also presented two bills. The first makes politicians who get involved in ineligible coup plots. The second provides for the cancellation of social networks and the dismantling of profiles and channels that promote and support such actions.
“The crises of 1954, 1955, 1961, the military coup of 1964 and several other moments, reaching more recent events, such as January 8, 2023, attest to this trend of part of the military not respecting the rules of the democratic game,” says Boulos.
“By not punishing its military during the democratic transition, the Brazilian state has made a mistake, as it encouraged the insurrection against institutions. It’s time to correct this historical error,” adds the psolist.
