During a meeting, Bocalom and Nicholas talk about 2026, union of the right and Mailza’s candidacy to the government

During institutional visit by the mayor of Rio Branco, Tião Bocalom, to the President of the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac), Nicolau Júnior, and to other deputies, on the morning of Tuesday (24), politicians talked about the elections of 2026.

The meeting took place in the office of the presidency of the house, with the presence of deputies Eduardo Ribeiro, Chico Viga, Luiz Gonzaga and Afonso Fernandes, as well as the head of the Rio Branco City Hall, Valtim José.

Bocalom and Nicholas have already been pointed out behind the scenes of politics as possible government candidates in the next elections.

Asked about the possibility of competing in Rio Branco Palace, Nicholas said he is a candidate for reelection.

“I am a candidate for my reelection. […] What we are doing here is to work this approach to the development of Acre, ”he said.

Bocalom said he believes in the union of the right to define a plate.

“I have no doubt. As the governor has said, as Senator Márcio Bittar has said, I have no doubt. We are a right, right -wing group. So let’s remain united,” explained the mayor.

About the candidacy of Deputy Governor Mailza Assis, Bocalom said she “is correct when going after a dream.”

“I think Senator Mailza, now deputy governor, is a big name, is a very sincere, dedicated and intelligent person. So she is correct to run after a dream; she has the dream of being a governor, as anyone has the right too. So, I think nothing fairer than she is doing,” he said.

“With regard to me, I want to say that I was elected as mayor of Rio Branco. I intend to fulfill my four years. Of course, up ahead everything is talked about. The most important thing is that everyone has the opportunity to present themselves. And we have several names in the right,” he added.

Bocalom confesses that he has the dream of being governor.

“The intention of being governor has always existed. I never left it; everyone knows that I was a candidate for governor three times. So, evidently what I always had. But not because I wanted to be governor because I was governor, but to show how to manage the public thing, as I did in believing. As there is a very small city, I didn’t have a bigger opportunity. For me, today, I already feel fulfilled with this dream that I had to show that when we take good care of the public thing, the results are good, ”he said.
