The FBI is launching a task force to investigate threats against Tesla, after reports that several incendiary devices were found at a showroom in Austin, Texas.
“The FBI has launched a task force to coordinate investigative activity and repress violent attacks against Tesla. More information is to come,” said Ben Williamson, assistant director of public affairs at the FBI on social network.
The 10-person task force will include special agents and Intelligence Analysts at AF and members of the FBI’s counter-terrorism division, according to the New York Post.
“The FBI has been investigating the increase in violent activity against Tesla and, in recent days, we have taken additional measures to repress and coordinate our response,” said FBI director Kash Patel at X. “This is domestic terrorism. Those responsible will be persecuted, captured and brought to court.”
The task force comes at the time the number of public protests against Tesla has increased throughout the country. The company’s CEO, Elon Musk, is ahead of the controversial government efficiency department (Doge).
President Donald Trump suggested that responsible should be fulfilled their sentences in El Salvador prison, where the US sent hundreds of Venezuelan migrants accused of being members of violent gangs.
