The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, said on Tuesday (25), during an event at FIESP, that evaluates a single defect in the tax reform: The expansion of the exceptions.

According to Haddad, Congress must resist the lobbies practiced by some sectors that will seek different tax regimes by 2032, the last year of tax transition to VAT Dual.

Haddad stated that the exceptions placed in the Complementary Reform Bill, approved last year by Congress, “distance us a little from the best tax systems in the world.”

Still, the minister again said that “we have the best possible reform of the democratic regime.”
