“The Semulher became aware of this case through social networks. At no time were we sought by the family or any member of the network. We saw when the family made a live and it was at this time that we learned of the case. At the same time, we looked for the family and made each other. We made contact with the Ministry of Women.
Madia stated that Joyce’s family talked to the woman’s minister when she was in Acre earlier this year. The case is being accompanied by the ministry.

One of the proponents of the bill is the federal deputy elected by Acre, Socorro Neri (progressive).

The family wants to be classified as sentimental, loving femicide, but it depends on the investigation in progress in the Civil Police. Madhia stressed that men need to be inserted in discussions about this case and so many others.
“We need to understand what men’s responsibility is in these situations. Society needs to debate, Congress needs to discuss, Semulher as well, and we should all get involved,” he said.
