João Fonseca It was defeated in the third phase of Miami’s Master 1000 (USA). This Monday (03/24), the Brazilian lost to Australian Alex de Minaur by 2 sets to 1 (5/7, 7/5 and 6/3). Now, João should be almost a month without playingreturning only in the Master 1000 from Madrid (ESP), which runs from April 23 to May 4th.
Behind the scenes, the intention of João Fonseca and his team is to take time to train, after competition marathon in early 2025. Thus, the Brazilian should not participate in the Master 1000 of Monte Carlo (April 6 to 13), nor the 500 tournaments of Barcelona (ESP) and Munich (Ale).
The decision of the training period has not yet been officially communicated, but it is the moment information in the runners of the tennis world.
João Fonseca: ATP ranking position
João Fonseca is the 58th place in the ATP ranking. He arrived in Miami in 60th position, but climbed two places after two wins.
The triumphs surrendered 50 points. As he defended 44 of Challenger 75 from Asuncion 2024, John left Miami with six points more in the ranking. Its total is 961 points.
