The Judicial Police (PJ) released images of the seizure of a cocaine -loaded submarine, in an operation that the institution’s director classified as a “hard blow to a criminal organization” that intended to “soak Europe”.
The vessel was carrying five crew members – three Brazilians, one Spaniard and one Colombian – and was destined for the Iberian Peninsula. According to the authorities, this seizure results from a joint operation between Portuguese and foreign police forces, reinforcing the fight against international drug trafficking.
At a press conference, the PJ highlighted the importance of this action in the “war against organized crime”, stressing that this type of semi -submersible vessels has been increasingly used by cartels to transport large amounts of drugs to Europe.
The operation of the operation is already circulating on social networks, showing the approach and capture of the submarine by police forces.
